Building Resources, Combining Sandplay and Action Methods
General Information
Participants will experience the use of sandplay figures and doubling as a resource building method with clients. Sandplay therapy is a form of expressive arts therapy that allows clients to access unconscious material and bring it into consciousness within a safe container. (3 CEUs)
Educational Goals
The Building Resources workshop will teach participants:
to understand the use of sandplay figures as projective devices for the unconscious.
to utilize sandplay figures to help clients identify and access internal resources.
to help clients embody and internalize the resource through the action method of “doubling”.
to encourage clients to recognize and access internal resources in their most challenging times.
Measurable Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to understand and utilize sandplay figures with clients to access a variety of unconscious beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and desires.
Participants will be able to apply the use of sandplay figures in one specific technique to access an internal resource.
Participants will learn how to apply the action method of doubling with clients to express and embody resources.
